A Motivational Story with Wisdom -
Two Wolves
Cherokee Wisdom .

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Me: In my searches of Amazon, your site, and any other location on the internet, I have been unable to find volume 3 of Banana Fish. I have found a few copies of previous edition, but as I started the series reading the second edition I think it is only correct to continue with that one. I would be very grateful if I could get access to this volume. Volume 2 ended with protagonist Ash Lynx about to have a cage fight with a larger inmate while in prison, and I am very much looking forward to seeing just how he will beat his opponent into submission. This is an urgent matter!

Viz: Your message has been received by our system. The ticket code for this enquiry is LTK14807611051X.

Seriously, what the hell? Why have volumes one and two in perfectly adequate supply and then not carry volume three ANYWHERE? I'm prepared to pay nearly $200 for nineteen volumes of your manga; why would you let one of the volumes disappear off of the face of the earth like that?

Riku is a 15-year-old boy who lives on Destiny Island, a magical tropical land where children run about all day long in tight, skimpy clothes but never get a tan. His best friend is Sora. A couple of years ago Kairi moved to the island and joined their little group; the fact that she had once lived elsewhere made Riku start thinking about leaving Destiny Island. She also percolated his hormones. - Issendai

"Her hair was soft and thin there.

Come on. No, it wasn't. Nobody's pubic hair is soft. It's one of God's cruelest jokes that the most sensitive part of the anatomy is covered in what amounts to biological razor wire, but that doesn't mean you get to ignore it for your stupid porn."

Romeo and Juliet [Apr. 14th, 2008|04:09 pm]

[Tunes |The Cure- A Forest]

Cool parts of Romeo and Juliet that I want to remember:

ROMEO

Alas, that love, whose view is muffled still,
Should, without eyes, see pathways to his will!
Where shall we dine? O me! What fray was here?
Yet tell me not, for I have heard it all.
Here's much to do with hate, but more with love.
Why, then, O brawling love! O loving hate!
O any thing, of nothing first create!
O heavy lightness! serious vanity!
Mis-shapen chaos of well-seeming forms!
Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire,
sick health!
Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!
This love feel I, that feel no love in this.
Dost thou not laugh?

BENVOLIO

No, coz, I rather weep.

--

JULIET

A thousand times good night!

Exit, above

ROMEO

A thousand times the worse, to want thy light.
Love goes toward love, as schoolboys from
their books,
But love from love, toward school with heavy looks.

"Handsome and sexually confused young cyclist crashes and punctures one of the wheels, leaving him stranded, until he's picked up by a strangely obliging gent who convinces him that getting married would be a mistake and a fiasco, and presumably seduces him on the smooth leather of the passenger seat. Gotta love it."

This shows the grade level at which the sample of writing you submit is. It was interesting to compare my stories and see which ones were the smartest. And which were the dumbest.
It's funny how big of a difference there is between my stories and my casual writing. I guess most of the time I'm just stupid.

This morning was incredibly beautiful. I think part of the reason why I thought it was so amazing was because I haven't seen a morning in quite a while. I've been sleeping in for the past week and a half, so seeing the sun come up was incredible. After I got back from the walk I had taken, I decided to get some pictures of the morning, though they really don't compare to really being there.

[Mood | Fucking Librarians]
[Tunes |One-Winged Angel (Advent Children Version)]

Howdy Y'all.

I very strongly dislike the staff at my local library. In fact, I avoid having to go to the library at all costs. I would even go so far as to say I actually hate Groton's library. Obviously I don't feel this way for no reason. To be point blank, the librarians there are mean. And nasty.

One day my family and I were there to get some books and I told my mom I didn't want to come in because I had and overdue book and didn't want them to say anything. My mom was like, "As if they're going to remember what you look like and tell you that your book is late. Don't worry about it." AND GUESS WHAT FUCKING HAPPENS.
I'm in the young adult section and one of the ladies comes up to me, saying, "Are you Jennifer Manglass? Well, it says here that you have two books out that are overdue."
"Um, I returned one just recently."
"And do you know where the other one is?"
"Uh, yeah, I think it's at home..."

LIKE THE FREAKING LIBRARY MOB. "Jennifer Manglass, I lent you that book as a favor, and I gave you three days to return it to me. Prepare to sleep with the fishes." Why does it matter to them if I'm just going to have to pay the late fee anyway? Does someone really desperately need to read Geography Club that badly?

That's not the only thing that has happened with them, though. Overall, I just feel like most of the people there have an attitude that is disrespectful to the library's patrons. And as you can see with me, it also deters people from coming at all.

The sad thing is I used to kind of like going to the library, as long as the people stayed out of my way. They had a dollar book rack and fliers for writing workshops. There was also a nice typewriter room I liked to sit in that no one else ever used. I wish the people didn't discourage me from going back, but they do.

SO LET THAT BE A LESSON TO ALL THE EVIL LIBRARIANS OUT THERE.
IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE MEAN, I'M NOT GOING TO COME BACK.

It's...Humunga Dunga!! [Aug. 1st, 2007|12:48 am]

[Mood | happy]
[Tunes |Pokemon theme song]

I love old episodes of Pokemon. From the minute I hear the original opening music I am a total happy camper. I can watch eight episodes in a row and be completely enthralled the entire time. The old shows were amazing and actually FUNNY. I laugh at even the most immature of puns when I'm watching Pokemon because they're just so wholesome and unique to the show.

The new episodes suck more balls than a male hooker and they make me very sad. But every once and a while cartoon network will play a marathon of the old episodes and I am at peace for a while. I look back at the good old days when there were only 150 (or more) Pokemon to see and see a happy time.

Plus, James is the best motherfuckin' character on the whole show and I love him and his voice. I, like many others, know Team Rocket's motto by heart and MUST say it along with the show. James James James James.

And any show that has given kids in Japan seizures gets respect in my book.
Hooray nostalgia.

This Charming Man [Jul. 31st, 2007|10:42 am]
[Current Location |Kingston, NY]
[Mood | enthralled]
[Tunes |This Charming Man- The Smiths]

I love this song so much. I have been listening to it nonstop for the past week. I think one of the reasons I love it so much is because it's so subtle. If the same sentiment had been put into a song today, it would go "This hot guy picked me up/ and we had unprotected sex in the back of his car/ yeeeaaah!!"

Luckily, this was the 80's and the song was done by The Smiths. Instead of being about having sex, it is about a single conversation. I love the language used and the way it is sung. Plus the beginning guitar part is pretty amazing. XD

The only problem is that I can't find anyone to talk to about it. Anyone who likes indie bands doesn't know about it because it's from the 80's, and anyone who likes 80's music doesn't know about it because it's indie.

A Plea [Jun. 28th, 2007|02:39 am]

It doesn't seem fair that in a world where Fruits Basket has millions of fans in America and Japan, series that actually deserve a fan base continue to be neglected. In reflection on this, I will resort to begging.

Let Dai deserves fans. The manwha has beautiful writing, is filled with emotion, and sucks you in as you read it. It has a story unlike any other manga or manwha I have ever read. The character have personalities and feelings. Romance doesn't happen in only twenty pages. Things take time, they don't always go as planned- like real life.

To call Let Dai yaoi would be a mislabel. Yes, the two main characters have a romantic relationship, but yaoi and shonen-ai do not fit them at all. The terms deter so many possible fans who don't want to watch two guys meet and immediately have sex. Let Dai is not at all like this and should definitely not be held in the same light.

I'm not saying that Let Dai is absolutely perfect. Some of the comedy seems a little out of place amongst the drama, but besides this thing and a few others there is really nothing I can say against it.

I want other people to read it. Start it with an open mind. If you like it, great, if not oh well. But at least try it.
